SVANENMÄRKET - Sustainable Development in Kasnäs
Ab Kasnäsudden Oy, Hotel Kasnäs and restaurant Kasnäs Paviljong, have been working with a sustainability program for a long time. Sustainable development is an important part of our operations and daily work. One of the actions taken, has been to certify our products and services with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, the official ecolabel of the Nordic countries. This certificate means that we can offer our customers healthier and safer products and services with a smaller environmental impact.
• We believe that environmentally friendly solutions and options that enhance people's well-being in the future will have a major impact on consumers' decisions and behavior. The criterias of the Nordic Swan Ecolabel consider the environmental impact in many aspects. Customer demands for a more sustainable product or service is growing every year, says hotel manager Tanja Liljeqvist.
• We want to be predecessor and it is of great importance to us to be able to offer sustainable options to our guests at the hotel and restaurant. Seawater
The sea fills up our pools. All the water you drink, shower and bathe in, is purified seawater.
Wind
The wind brings us light. All electricity comes from renewable energy sources.
Heat
Heat is retained. The outdoor pools, the spa and the restaurant are heated with district heating produced from residual heat in our parent company Salmonfarm.
Waste management
We find waste management as an important part of the sustainable development program. We have made waste sorting possible for our hotel customers by placing special waste sorting bins in the hotel rooms. You can also help us sort your waste in the restaurant.
Locally produced products
We collaborate with local producers and offer our guests locally produced products and food from local farmers in the grocery store, restaurant and in the spa. Our fish and fish products are produced by our parent company Ab Salmonfarm Oy and you can find them at our lunch buffet and in the grocery store.
